Foreign language 3rd semester

 Hello, I', Juan Esteban, I'm 19 years old and I live in Montería. I love hip-hop culture and my musical style and my own fashion style is influenced by it. I enjoy going out with my friends, especially when it's at night. I like spicy food although not when it is too spicy. My favorite fast food is pizza and I hate Mondongo. I'm an introvert in the fact that I am not interested in talking about myself or meeting new people, I'm not shy about doing something when it is required. I hope you enjoy my blog lol! Welcome everyone to my blog where I will show you my whole process at the University of Cordoba from my perspective. Here we will see my efforts and activities while learning new things. 😸

I started the semester on the wrong foot. Classes had started and I still didn't have my class schedule, I had to go to the secretary of the faculty to ask for extra places to enter. My first communication class was on Friday, August 25. I walked into my classroom knowing a few classmates from last semester, the rest would be new classmates. I met the new teacher named Jesus Miguel. When I entered the university everything was as usual, the same people in the same places, some classmates were the same, however, others were new people to meet. Inphografy My first communication activity was to find a new way to teach the alphabet to students in a fun and different way except for the popularly known alphabet song. My activity, more than anything, was based on a way of practicing and reinforcing the alphabet. I started my activity by dividing the group in two and handing out some letters to each student One person from each group had to participate, that person had to act like a specific animal or perform a specific action depending on the letter they got, and the other students had to guess the animal that they were imitating or the action they were performing in order to do so. complete the lines of an animal that was drawn on the board made by me.

 Starting my second week I realize how difficult my schedule is, several days I have to be at the university all day. However, I have met new people, I have met family members who study at my University and several friends who study there. Second week podcast

  In this activity the teacher gave us the task of calculating the expenses we incurred at the university. With this activity I realize the exact expenses I make. The total expenses were $48.21 dollars, which in Colombian pesos would be 198,600 Colombian pesos.

In this third activity the teacher gave us several things to do. First of all we had to watch a video that talked about the impact of a friendship seen since adolescence, the video also explained different regions of the brain such as the ventral straitum and also explained the theory of mind and read an article that talked about a tribe . After watching and reading, we began to make an infographic explaining what we saw and how a friendship became a tribe. I made my presentation with confidence and the teacher highlighted several positive points about my presentation. Inphografy

This week I realize how many presentations I've had so far, however, I have done well in each and every one of them. Compared to last semester, I realize the difference in demands that exist between both. So far so good, I met a teacher who hadn't taught me well yet, but everything was wonderful. In this communication activity we had to make a presentation that talked about fashion. We had to choose two celebrities to talk to and also talk about ourselves. This activity consisted of using the present simple to describe another person. For my part, I talked about XXXTENTACION and Playboi Carti. I talked about his evolution over the years, his way of dressing, thinking and acting, which made my grade a 4.6.

 Over the course of this week nothing interesting happened, plus I had no worries to do except for a Grammar midterm I had which I passed. However, Friday was a bit interesting for several reasons. That day I only have one class, which is Communication, so that day we did not have class, nevertheless, we went to the Buenavista shopping center to share time with the teacher and some classmates. We had already planned the date. Most of our classmates attended and we ordered two family pizzas. The pizzas were delicious. We shared food and chatted a little with each other about different things.  Finally, in the evening I attended the birthday of different classmates at the Garden-Bennedeto restaurant. I ordered a drink because I wasn't hungry, however, I accepted different dishes that my classmates offered me to try. It was a simple and relaxing week. Starting the week, in my first class I had a presentation about a song that had racist and sexual lyrics because that was the topic. I guess I did well in that presentation. That same day I had Grammar class which was canceled because my teacher's laptop was not working so I returned home. At 4:00PM I had my Communication class about connectors. The class was simple and effective since I'm in the process of using the connectors.  In that same class the teacher left an activity about a text from the book called "Hannah met Jammie in the summer of 2010" in which we had to create an ending different from the one in the book, regardless of whether it was a happy ending or a tragic ending. I made a happy and comic ending taking as reference the book "The divine comedy" by Dante Aligheri. It wasn't like a vacation but it was a funny story to remember. It was during July holidays, I don't remember the exact day, some friends and I had agreed to celebrate a friend's birthday in the northern nightclub plaza. That day the nightclubs were full and the bars too, however, it was a little cold. Before entering the club we ate meat sticks and sausage, when we entered the club called Wish, everything was as usual since we had already entered there before. We ordered Aguardiente, everything was going great until a friend ordered a fish tank full of alcohol, anyway, we all drank both.  Time passed and the alcohol began to have an effect on our bodies, we all danced, laughed and sang the songs. We left the club and I don't remember well, but when I went to where my friends were, two of them were vomiting, the birthday girl and my friend who ordered the fish tank and I was like damn. This week was dedicated to midterm exams. I did most of the exams which I am confident I did well. We didn't have classes about the contents of the units. It should be noted that my Communication exam had eight pages of content, I think that was the longest English exam I have had. My longest exam like everyone else's must be the Icfes. Friday was a simple day, the good thing is that my classmates and I had planned to go to lunch with our teacher Luisina. It was a nice afternoon, I talked to her about music and we shared smiles. This week we didn't do much in our communication classes. On Monday and Tuesday I attended classes as usual. On Monday especially the communication teacher gave us an activity related to airports. In this activity we would have to go to Los Garzones Airport and share information about the airport, for example size, security, flights, etc. Also, the professor told us our midterm exam grades. Iker told me that I lost the midterm exam (I didn't believe him). On Tuesday I only had Communication classes, the teacher explained a topic called defining and non-defining relative clauses. The teacher, after explaining the topic, told us that we have to do a quiz about it, which personally went well for me and I got a good grade. On Thursday in my communication class we had a fun little activity with Luisina in which we had to act out a little drama about the airport. On Monday I went to my afternoon communication class. In that communication class we were in an explanation about etiquette when eating, how to order food, sit down, cutlery to use, etc. After that explanation we saw some that the teacher told us to see in advance which I watched responsibly as the good student that I am lol. At the end of the class the teacher left us an activity to do which asked us to table etiquette, utensil usage, a drama presenting a situation in a restaurant, and a review about the restaurant.  On Tuesday I attended my communication class which involved watching a series that our teacher Luisina asked us to watch so that later we could answer a series of questions regarding the series based on practicing our vocabulary and learning new words and expressions. Lately that  class, I went to the Smartfit gym. I noticed that my strength has decreased significantly since I haven't worked out in months. This week was not so interesting since most days I did not have classes due to the cultural week that takes place at the university which tries to support different endeavors, dances, activities and concerts. On Thursday and Friday I attended a conference called ICTEFOL which talked about different topics about education. On Friday night I attended the concert with some partners held by the university. I went specifically to see Farid Díaz. It was a good concert despite the fights that occurred.

It is an interesting topic when we talk about the relationship that adolescents have with their parents, because it is difficult to talk about that in itself. Most of the time when we talk about the way parents raise their children, we always have to think that each parent raises their children differently than the way we will raise them or the way we were raised. Entering the context in any region or country, we will realize the evolution of the way parents have raised their children has had compared to the way they do it now. But even so, speaking specifically in the Colombian context, we will realize that our parents and grandparents were raised in a totally different way, stricter and more old-fashioned, so to speak, more orthodox and influenced by religions, specifically the Christian religion.  Changing what has been said a little, it could be said that there are many differences between this generation and the previous one, and this is demonstrated in different ways, for ins...
